- Cashew nuts are one of the most recently discovered delicacies - it was only in the previous century that they were proven edible. - The cashew grows on a tree, called the western nanerch, but it is somehow attached to the fruit of this tree, commonly titled apple. In the shell of this apple is hidden only one nut. Acquiring cashew nuts is therefore not an easy matter. All stages of its preparation for sale are done by hand, and cashews travel tens of thousands of kilometers before they reach our tables.
